My little theatre

Here's the corner of my room designated for the home cinema equipment. It's been done on a limited budget but It makes for a wonderful audio/visual experience as far as I'm concerned. Certainly far beyond the built in pro-logic from the TV using its own surround speakers! (which is what I set the room up with first).

Although the room is looking remarkably empty in the picture, it's usually full of toys for our 2yr old son - hence the reason my setup is crammed into as small a space as possible. Ideally I'd prefer to spread out the front speakers for a better stereo dispersion but there's a toy box in the way!

The main speakers here are Mission 702e's The centre speaker is a Gale Centre 10.

Both the TV unit and DVD cabinet on the wall behind are from IKEA.

It's a little difficult to see (which is a good thing!) but there is actually mini-trunking along the skirting board and up around the door (also shown in the second from last picture) within which runs my speaker cable.

The 'black boxes' from the top left;

Amstrad DRX-100 Sky Digibox (loads of people seem to winge about them, but i've had no problems and I actually think it's one of the better looking Sky boxes)
Sony VCR
Samsung 709 DVD player
Sherwood R8090RDS Amplifier

I've included these pictures to show the height and direction of the surround speakers. They're small Gale Satellite 10's which just hang on the wall without a bracket, hence they a have high WAF (wife approval factor). The TV unit is in the corner to the left of the door. The surround speakers point in, towards the middle of the room. I have had the opportunity to change the rear speakers for something somewhat bigger, but frankly they sound so good for their size and ease of use, that I'll probably never change them.
